Evidence-based psychological practices
We are all unique in terms of our personality, experiences and makeup, therefore, one therapeutic approach for all people is not suitable. Today's Psychology recognises this and therefore, provides a number of effective, yet different, therapeutic approaches for our clients.
Our Psychologists use evidence-based psychological practices when working with clients, including:
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Brief Interventions or Time-limited Therapy
-
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
-
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
-
Interpersonal Therapy
-
Mindfulness-based Therapy (including Mindfulness CBT)
-
Solution-focused Therapy

Emma-Kate Muir provides vocational guidance and profiling, including specific testing and assessment and individual follow-up to assist clients in identifying vocational options.
Vocational guidance is suitable for school leavers and others seeking to change career or explore alternate employment options.
Marriage, couples & family therapy
Our Psychologists provide marriage and couples therapy. By arrangement, family therapy is also available.
Group therapy programs & skills development groups
We regularly run group therapy programs and skills development groups. You can choose to attend one group program or a number of groups. With a GP Mental Health Care Plan, you can access up to 10 individual therapy sessions and up to 10 group therapy sessions per year which attract a Medicare rebate.
We have designed the groups program to enable participants to be able to enroll in more than one group. All our group therapy programs are offered in addition to and to support your individual therapy sessions.
We run the following groups throughout the year:
-
Dealing with Distress - 6 weeks of Life Skills
-
Advanced Dealing with Distress - 10 weeks of more Life Skills
-
Great Dream Program - 3 Sessions on Keys To Happiness
