GP Mental Health Care Plan
If you have been referred by your GP and you have a current GP Mental Health Care Plan, a Medicare rebate will apply to your session.
A GP Mental Health Care Plan allows you to access a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual therapy sessions per calendar year, and attend up to 10 group therapy sessions per calendar year. Of course you can access more than 10 individual psychology sessions in a year, and more than 10 group therapy sessions in a year, just be mindful that after 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions, you will need to access your private health fund or pay for sessions privately until your Medicare rebate resets on January 1st each year.
We find that people get a great deal of benefit from complimenting their individual therapy sessions with additional group therapy sessions.
We encourage you to fully invest in your psychological treatment by taking full advantage of your group therapy options.
For your comfort and reassurance, we work closely with your GP and referring doctor, providing a collaborative partnership with your GP. Following your doctor’s referral, our Psychologists will work with your doctor, providing a co-ordinated approach to your health and well-being and keeping your doctor informed of your treatment and progress.
You are welcome to request a specific Psychologist, depending on their area of interest or your doctor’s referral. Alternatively, you may wish to ask for the earliest available appointment with one of our Today's Psychology Psychologists.
Appointments
We appreciate life can be uncertain at times, so we strive to provide flexible and timely appointments. If you require an earlier appointment than has been scheduled, please contact us and we will try to accommodate your request.
Typically, appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes, including the initial consultations and subsequent appointments. This allows a suitable amount of time for your Psychologist to get to know you and your concerns and together, determine how therapy may be able to help you.
Treatment for everyone!
We are passionate about providing high quality, positive outcome psychological treatment for everyone in our community.
A number of our Psychologists offer a limited number of reduced fee consultations for people in genuine financial hardship or for clients currently on a Pension.
Please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss your personal circumstances.
Fees
The cost of your appointment and the Medicare rebate will vary depending on the type of referral you have and the therapist you see.
